Job Requirements:

Must be at least 21 years of age at time of appointment

United States citizen

Must possess a high school diploma or GED from an accredited school
-
Must possess a valid Indiana driver’s license (or obtain one within 60 days of establishing residency)
-
No felony convictions
-
No misdemeanor conviction of domestic violence
-
Must become a resident of Porter County within one (1) year of appointment

The Porter County Sheriff’s Office has created a new program for full-time college students looking for part-time employment. C-StEP is an employment opportunity designed to give the full-time college student majoring in a law enforcement related field, real-life experience by working inside of the Porter County Jail and earn money at the same time. The student must be 18 years or older and will work 24 hours per week (3-shifts) at a rate of $17 per hour and must remain a full-time student to participate in this employment opportunity program.
