PCSP Retirement Chief
Doug Snider retired as second in command at the Porter County Sheriff's Department
to take a management position with the U.S. Steel Corporate Security Team.
Doug Snider, has been with the sheriff's department for 21 years.
Lain said he appointed Snider chief upon taking office in January 2007.
Snider had served the eight years prior as a major or third in command at the department.
The chief is charged with overseeing daily operations at the department.
Snider was an original member of the ERT (SWAT) team, where he served as commander for eight years.
He was also a firearms instructor for the department
