Life Saving Awards' Presented to two Pcsd Officers

Sheriff David Lain presents the Life Saving Award to Officer Justin Reeder

 

Officer Justin Reeder was awarded a Life Saving Award for his actions on February 23, 2011.

Officer Reeder responded to a residential fire in Washington Twp.

Upon arrival he observed flames were coming through the roof of the residence and realized the entire house would soon be engulfed.

Officer Reeder was told by neighbors that they had not seen the homeowner exited the residence.

Officer Reeder than made entry in to the residence and locate the homeowner who was disoriented and stumbling in the kitchen.  The victim was removed from the residence and delivered to responding Emergency Medical Personnel.

The officer's quick response and immediate entry into the residence prevented certain death of the homeowner.

 

 

Sheriff David Lain presents the Life Saving Award to Officer Mike Spicer

 

Officer Mike Spicer was awarded a Life Saving Award for his actions on March 4, 2011. 

Officer Spicer had transported a female subject to the jail for a chemical breath test for suspicion of OWI.  While at the Porter County Jail the female became unresponsive and stopped breathing. 

Officer Spicer began CPR on the female and after approximately 2 minutes she began to breathe on her won.  The female eventually was transported to the hospital and survived this incident.
