Come show your support for peace & unity in our city on
October 2!
We're going to stand up for the unity of all the good
people in Valparaiso, and stand against hatred/exclusion
of all kinds, no matter the source.
Our main objective is to gather as many people from all
walks of life as possible at the Porter County
courthouse square to surround it in a candlelight vigil
for peace, unity & the inclusion of all people in our
city amidst all our diversity. To demonstrate in numbers
our support for each other & for Valparaiso, and that we
stand against exclusion, discrimination, bias-motivated
incidents, bigotry & hatred. Those from surrounding
communities who support our cause are also invited to
attend.

Speakers: Mayor Jon Costas-representing the city of
Valparaiso. Superintendent Dr. Andrew Melin-representing
the Valparaiso Community Schools. Tom Isakson, New
Creation Men's Center-representing the homeless &
socio-economically challenged. Carol Dahlen, Advantage
Pointe-representing women & biracials. Javier Aguilar,
Gloria Dei Mission-giving memorial to the late Rev.
Lloyd Miller of FUMC. Pastor Rich Schmidt, Living Hope
Community Church--Ieading final prayer/meditation.
Christine Hisick, event founder. Event D.J--Planetarv.
HATS will feature a community balloon release, a musical
D.J. and free hot chocolate/coffee for our guests.
Children are welcome & encouraged to partici pate.
