Friends of the NRA Winners

On January 9th Ron and Jennifer Adams from Indianapolis came to the Porter County Sheriff’s Department to claim their prize of the opportunity to shoot the “Dillinger” Thompson. They had won the state wide drawing at a Friends of the NRA banquet held last year.

After serving a very short sentence in the jail cell in the lobby of the Sheriff’s Department Ron and his wife each had a “Kodak moment” with the weapon. Sheriff David Lain then took them to Blythe’s Sport Shop in Valparaiso where the Adams were treated to some range time courtesy of owner Les Blythe.

Ron commented to the Sheriff that being in the construction trade has had its challenges during the recent economic downturn, but that the day’s event really cheered him up and gave him a reason to smile.
