Chief Gary Martin Blood Drive

In the 1^st annual Chief Gary Martin Blood Drive, Lake County proved victorious over Porter County, so Sheriff David Lain, Chief Doug Snider, and Captain George Gonzalez traveled to the LCSD to congratulate Sheriff Roy Dominguez and his staff. Since Lake County’s population is so much larger than that of Porter County, Sheriff Lain devised a plan to “even the playing field” for next year.

Sheriff Lain and Chief Snider presented their Lake County counterparts with “medical kits” (from Toys R Us) in the theory that if they helped in the process in Lake County, it would slow blood collection down enough for Porter County to keep pace.
