Prevent Child Abuse, Porter County Indiana
In Memory of the 51 Indiana
Children of 2003 Who Lost
Their Lives Due to Child Abuse

A Letter from the Prevent
Child Abuse Porter County
Prevent Child Abuse Porter
County believes that education and awareness are the key to
preventing child abuse, before the pain has been inflicted.
Our team of dedicated volunteers is making a difference in our
community.
Our speakers bureau goes out
into the community, free of charge, and educates on topics such as
positive parenting techniques, sighs of child abuse and neglect,
stress and anger management, and prevention of "Shaken Baby
Syndrome".
This year as part of April
National Child Abuse Awareness Month we are co-sponsoring
internationally recognized speaker and author, Babara Coloroso.
Her topic "The Bully, the Bullied, and the Bystander" educates on
breaking the cycle of violence in our homes and schools.
Also, as part of April Awareness
we have distributed 9,500 blue ribbons throughout Porter County to
health and social service agencies, City and County government, and
police and fire departments.
If you wish to help us make a
difference, please come to our next council meeting. The next
meeting will be on Tuesday April 27th, 6:30 PM, at the Mercantile
Bank, 750 S. Washington St, Valparaiso. Call 531-9012 if you
have any questions or need further information.
Change is
possible because prevention works
