Colors Retired at Old Jail |

On a day of solemn memorials and quiet reflection, Porter County
Sheriff's Department Color Guard lowered the American Flag for the final time at
157 S. Franklin Street. Our nation's flag has flown over this building
constantly for over 30 years now. With the move to the new facility in progress,
this day of sadness and memories was chosen to retire the very flag that was
flying
on 9-11-2001. The flag will be kept and displayed in the new
facility, located at 2755 State Road 49.
