Appreciation to Caring Place Children's Education Coordinator

Sheriff Reynolds presents Lisa Gahimer 
with certificate of appreciation

“Sheriff Reynolds recently presented a certificate of Appreciation to Lisa Gahimer, Children's  Education Coordinator of the Caring Place, for her development and presentation of the Domestic Violence Awareness Program.  This program was shown to over 2000 school children this year.  Involved were School Resource Officers Sgt. Steve Jenkins and Officer Troy Walker along with Portage Police Cpl. John Ryan and the Indiana State Police. Also Valparaiso University students were a big help as role players.  

 Sheriff Reynolds believes the program was a successful way to show children how to report Domestic Violence, making Porter County a safer place.
