Officer Edward Blakely
Killed in the Line of Duty November 28, 1961

Officer Blakely was gunned down at 475 W. and US Hwy. 30
on
November 28, 1961 by murder suspect Paul T. Kennedy.
Kennedy first
shot and killed Hobart Township resident Robert Caldwell
after
forcing Caldwell into his auto and abducting him from his
home.
Blakely was killed with a 16-gauge shotgun taken from the
trunk of Caldwell's auto.
