Sheriff Reynolds at recent Domestic Violence Panel Meeting
Sheriff Reynolds is co-chairmen of the
Portage
and Valparaiso
Mayor's
Commission Against Domestic Violence and Abuse.
The panel is comprised of representatives from all areas
of the criminal justice system, including judges, prosecutors,
attorneys
and law enforcement agencies. The panel meets once per month
and has developed a countywide policy concerning
how police departments respond to Domestic Violence Cases.
They have
been instrumental in State Legislation changes affecting
victims of domestic violence, such as:
Domestic Battery
Stalking
Restraining Order Violations
And
other charges relating to crimes of intimidation
and
domestic violence
